STAR:TRACK

Star:track is a non-competitive event to encourage children to get involved in athletics as a sport, while having a great time.

Local children will be able to try their hand at many of the different athletics disciplines, plus learn new skills through playing athletics related games, all under the watchful eye of expert coaches.

The event is open to boys and girls aged 5-11 and 12-15 years old.

These children will receive instruction on:
• Sprints
• Throws
• Hurdles
• Jumps
• Middle Distance

AIMS FOR THE STAR:TRACK SCHEME ARE
To enhance the quality of athletics delivery and develop the knowledge of venue organisers.
• Increase the level of athletics 'follow on' activity- from school to star:track and from star:track to club.
• Extend the involvement of athletic clubs
• Improve the quality and quantity of coaches and officials.
• Raise awareness of all minority groups involvement.
• Use the star:track as the catalyst to develop year round athletics activity within the local authority sector.

Thousands of kids are expected to join in the fun. This event has made the commitment and is designed to nurture our young athletes, regardless of ability, gender or ethnic background, and support the stars of tomorrow.

For more information or an application for joining the star:track program please contact Haringey Sports Development, see contact us details.
